Independent snow and weather reporting from the Nozawa Onsen region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 42cm
Snowfall at base this season 479cm

Posted on Tuesday 22nd January 2019 This is an archived report. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here.

If you like snow, you'll like it here at the moment.

First up, since yesterday the resort is reporting 53cm of fresh snowfall on the top Yamabiko area (23cm yesterday and another 30cm overnight); 57cm at Uenotaira; 48-50cm at lower Hikage and Nagasaka areas and 35cm down at the base Karasawa area. Tons of snow. Brilliant. My measurement comes in at 42cm.

Some clearing in the snow clouds seems due tomorrow morning as the forecast currently stands, but even so snow shouldn't be far away over the coming week.

Hope you can enjoy it.
