Independent snow and weather reporting from the Nozawa Onsen region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 4cm
Snowfall at base this season 711cm

Posted on Wednesday 22nd February 2017 This is an archived report. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here.

Good morning from Nozawa.

Things have calmed down once again and as I put this report together we have a mix of blue sky and cloud this morning.

If the local forecasts are right (not necessarily so!), the clouds may end up winning the day but for now it's bright and sunny in places.

It's a good and cold start to the day as well, though set to warm up a bit (and more tomorrow - with a mix of rain/sleet/snow on the confused forecast... will depend on the temperatures. Cold please.)

Early tracks this morning should be fun!
