Independent snow and weather reporting from the Nozawa Onsen region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 33cm
Snowfall at base this season 147cm

Posted on Sunday 22nd December 2024 This is an archived report. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here.

The very good news is that it is snowing and we expect a lot over the next few days.

The ski area has reported 47cm of fresh snow on the top Yamabiko area and up to 30cm around base areas. My measurement is 33cm.

Sounds like Nozawa we love, right? :)

Less good, but can't be helped, is that the Nagasaka gondola and Uenotaira quad lift are not moving this morning. Due to said weather. Others might get affected.

Check before heading out. And if you do head out, know where you are going and take extra care.

I have taken out the lift/courses info to avoid confusion.

Anyway, let's have all this lovely snow!
