Independent snow and weather reporting from the Nozawa Onsen region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 1cm
Snowfall at base this season 690cm

Posted on Wednesday 21st February 2018 This is an archived report. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here.

Good morning from Nozawa.

Just a dusting on lower areas as it snows this morning with the resort reporting 10cm on the upper Yamabiko and Uenotaira areas.

Fingers crossed we'll get some more fresh today and then it looks like there's a chance of a sunny day tomorrow though thankfully it's not set to warm up.

I feel less people around on the slopes this week, but Nozawa is a big place anyway so there's plenty snow to share around.

Fresh snowfall since yesterday (as reported by the resort):

- Yamabiko (1407m): 10cm

- Uenotaira (1230m): 10cm

- Hikage (660m): -cm

- Nagasaka (615m): -cm

- Karasawa (563m): -cm

Official snow depth numbers:
