New snowfall at base 1cm
Snowfall at base this season 253cm

Posted on Thursday 16th January 2014 This is an archived report. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here.

It's a cloudy morning in Nozawa Onsen.

Some cloudy heads as well after the festival last night, of that I am sure! Fun was had.

So, back to the mountain...

After the mostly bright and sunny day we had yesterday, it's back to grey and white this morning. Just a dusting of snow at base and up to 5cm reported by the resort up on Uenotaira. Yesterday was a very cold day and temperatures this morning are not quite as low though as of 9am it is about -4 degrees in the village.

Hopefully we'll get a snow refresh overnight that I can report to you tomorrow morning and it should be snowing over the weekend as well.
