Independent snow and weather reporting from the Nozawa Onsen region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 2cm
Snowfall at base this season 616cm

Posted on Thursday 15th February 2018 This is an archived report. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here.

A fine day yesterday with sun and blue skies in the morning and cloud gather as the afternoon went on. Temperatures rose to around +4 degrees C.

Was that rain I heard in the middle of the night along with some noisy wind? Not sure. But this morning it is snowing lightly. The resort is reporting up to 5cm of fresh snow up top and 1-3cm on lower base areas so a bit of a dusting.

It should be colder than it was yesterday with the forecasts telling us to expect temperatures around zero in the day.

Forecast = sunshine tomorrow + snow over the weekend.
