What a nice surprise this morning!

With snow starting to fall in the afternoon yesterday and it was still snowing when I retired for the day, this morning there's 6cm of fresh snow on the ground at base.

I can't say I was expecting that, but very happy to see it.

It's not snowing now - actually there's quite a lot of blue sky on view and the sun is shining down on us.

I wonder how much there will be at higher elevations. I must go and find out! It should be a good day.

Until Thursday, Shirakaba at Niseko Grand Hirafu will apparently be closed as they are busy setting up the Spring Park there.

It also looks like the Dai-no no kabe course will be closed today and tomorrow due to an event being held there (35th Hokkaido Junior Ski Technique Championships).
