Independent snow and weather reporting from the Niseko region of Hokkaido

New snowfall at base 0cm
Snowfall at base this season 1006cm

Posted on Friday 21st April 2023 This is an archived report. The latest Niseko Now report can be found here

Good afternoon from Niseko.

Unfortunately, Annupuri has been closed today due to the weather conditions (wind). Hirafu has been open, though with the gondola on low speed setting.

Less and less snow as the days go on now. No 'we must close early' kind of announcement so far, though Hirafu are mentioning how the snow is increasingly patchy.

What is left on offer is perhaps what might reasonably be called an acquired taste!
