Independent snow and weather reporting from the Niseko region of Hokkaido

New snowfall at base 7cm
Snowfall at base this season 200cm

Posted on Saturday 14th December 2019 This is an archived report. The latest Niseko Now report can be found here

To start the weekend off I have 7cm of fresh snowfall to report from here by base. Cloudy and grey and not much of a wind. It is not quite as cold this morning and the quality of the snow is perhaps reflected by that. While absolutely lovely of course - it is perhaps not as lovely as it is when it is the loveliest of all. Despite that rather silly sentence, I'm not feeling particularly wordy this morning so I'll leave it at that and see you tomorrow.

Oh yes - please note the open courses at Hirafu below. Terrain from the top of the gondolas to base areas at Niseko Annupuri and Niseko Village are also open. So there is a fair bit of choice, but top lifts are not open yet and we need more snow to click into full gear.
