Independent snow and weather reporting from the Niseko region of Hokkaido

New snowfall at base 8cm
Snowfall at base this season 193cm

Posted on Friday 13th December 2019 This is an archived report. The latest Niseko Now report can be found here

Good morning from Niseko.

Happily, we have an improved situation this morning. (Phew!)

8cm of fresh snowfall on the ground and noticeably colder conditions this morning. That is most welcome but it's not going to give us deep conditions out on the mountain especially when you consider what we were dealt the previous few days. Take care out there, might be some scraping sounds.

I was about to say that there seems to be less windy conditions at the moment, but notice that as I post this report the Gondola and Jumbo Number 3 lift at Annupuri are on hold so the upper area of Annupuri isn't open at the start of the day. That may well change, of course.

Nighta at Niseko Annupuri and Niseko Village until 8:30pm; none at Niseko Grand Hirafu just yet.

Things are looking good for snow tomorrow.

Lots of it, please.
