Independent snow and weather reporting from the Niseko region of Hokkaido

New snowfall at base 3cm
Snowfall at base this season 878cm

Sunday greetings from Niseko.

Well, while I wouldn't call it 'heavy snow', we did actually get some and enough for me to several cm to this report from base (with a slight rounding up to the whole number).

It looks to me like there might have been slightly more on the south side of the mountain and perhaps 5-10cm or so in higher areas.

Here's how much snow the ski areas are reporting:

Hanazono: 5cm (base), 10cm (top)

Hirafu: 10cm

Annupuri: 10cm

Of course, Niseko Village is going with 0cm. ;)

The downer might be that wind might still affect top lifts this morning.

Anyway, yay! A nice surprise bonus and enough to tempt me...

Today is the last day of the season for Niseko Hanazono and Niseko Village.

From tomorrow, just Hirafu and Annupuri will be open.
