Independent snow and weather reporting from the Myoko region of Niigata

New snowfall at base 20cm
Snowfall at base this season 938cm

A good blast of snow overnight; not as much as it seemed we would get, as it was really coming down in the early evening yesterday, but still a good snowfall. 20cm clocked in the report.

Some pretty strong wind as well, making all the trees white. Looks like we're in a birch forest this morning.

Temperatures are staying nice and cold as well, and should stay that way through the weekend. Snow is on the forecast as well—it's occasionally sunny this morning, which it shouldn't be as we have clouds in all direction and a forecast of snow. Might even get some heavy snow on Sunday, your trusty SnowJapan forecast says....
