Well, we got snow, and it’s still coming down (lightly), and there was a touch of wind, but none of these things arrived in large quantities. Good snow, a nice addition to the snowpack, but not that much. I heard (not yet substantiated) tales of more snow falling in Joetsu City, to the north of us, which does happen when the winds come more westerly than northwesterly. I’ll do a little research on that. And the forecast is for continued snow and some strong winds, especially tomorrow and Saturday, but as usual in 2025, we’ll just have to see.
Oh, yeah, it was colder, too, and might get even colder in the coming days. Good for the powder condition.
Other than that, just the usual struggles to stay ahead of snow and replace the ever-snapping shear pins on the otherwise trusty new peter, the local name for the big snowthrowers required in this area. Long hours, but nice, clean driveways and parking lots.
