New snowfall at base 66cm
Snowfall at base this season 1172cm
Posted on Saturday 5th February 2022 This is an archived report. The latest Myoko Now report can be found here.
It is on. The snow is just pouring down, the roads are not plowed, the lifts are just starting to move: it's a snow day.
We've already received 66cm (see photo), and the forecast is for a total of around a meter. Easy to achieve; that snow is coming down in many-cm-per-hour amounts.
I was going to report on yesterday's great backcountry snow, which was deep but well settled, and pretty fast sliding, but that's all changed, of course. There are lots of drifts and indications of pretty good winds overnight, plus all this unsettled snow, so once again, it's going to be a bit wild wherever there's lots of ungroomed snow (which means all over the mountain). But it's also going to be fun.
Get out there (if you can get up the roads to the mountain).
