Independent snow and weather reporting from the Myoko region of Niigata

New snowfall at base 9cm
Snowfall at base this season 669cm

Posted on Friday 3rd February 2023 This is an archived report. The latest Myoko Now report can be found here.

A late one today (sorry about that!) but we have a complete set of information, with updates from all the resorts.

A little bit of unexpected snow overnight, just enough to add a little more to the snowpack and keep things soft on top.

It was foggy earlier, but it's brightened up a bit now, so the snow is sliding off the roofs and falling off the power lines. Not so romantic an image, I guess, but one that helps us out in clearing up homes and shops.

The temperature is still below zero, though, so the snow condition should remain good.
