Independent snow and weather reporting from the Myoko region of Niigata

New snowfall at base 0cm
Snowfall at base this season 1525cm

Posted on Thursday 28th February 2019 This is an archived report. The latest Myoko Now report can be found here.

It's not so good out here in Myoko today, but not that bad in a sense, either. There is wet stuff falling from the sky, but very lightly at the moment (it was raining fairly hard with some wet snow mixed in earlier this morning). It's fairly bright, too, so not as gloomy as it could be. Pretty foggy up on the hill, but it's not so bad from base up to halfway up the mountain.

It could well be snowing at the top of the resort and up the hill, but there's not a lot ahead on the forecast to make much new snow possible.

The freezing line is going to stay around 1000 meters and up, so it's going to stay mild if not warm for the near future.
