I promised myself that I'd get out an early report--which is good, except that the official snow reports haven't been updated locally yet (except for Ikenotaira). But I can say that no new snow has fallen since yesterday, the day is beginning partly cloudy/sunny, the wind is light from the southwest. The highly reliable (and I'm serious here, people) SnowJapan weather report for Akakura Kanko even says we might get a little snow today and tomorrow, although the freezing line will be going up the mountain--meaning it will be warmer, with some chance of rain down low. Then the snow is back in into next week, which keeps us all happy.

All snowfall data presented on this page is the snowfall measured and observed at base/town level by our reporter based in Myoko. The 'new snowfall' number represents the amount of snow measured since the previous report. All opinions are those of the individual reporters. Information regarding ski area operations is manually checked every morning and is believed to be correct at the time of the report.

SnowJapan is an entirely independent operation. Our daily reports are not posted on behalf of ski areas or any other business or organisation.
