Independent snow and weather reporting from the Myoko region of Niigata

New snowfall at base 8cm
Snowfall at base this season 918cm

Posted on Thursday 27th January 2022 This is an archived report. The latest Myoko Now report can be found here.

The snow has returned, falling pretty steadily now, with a bit of wind from the northeast. It was blowing pretty hard in some areas earlier, but not to bad at the moment (so probably few worries about wind-stopped gondolas, etc.).

It's probably going to keep going for several days, so we'll get a good cover on a snow surface that was a bit sun-crusted in places yesterday.
