Independent snow and weather reporting from the Myoko region of Niigata

New snowfall at base 1cm
Snowfall at base this season 910cm

Posted on Wednesday 26th January 2022 This is an archived report. The latest Myoko Now report can be found here.

Another early report today; I'm going snowshoeing.

The weather reports are for snow (actually, they said rain, but I'm hoping that's down below), but it's partly cloudy now with the sun shining through at times. Nice contrast with some dark clouds, a little fog in the valleys up on the mountain. Pretty dramatic morning.

Snow is definitely coming, though, and for several consecutive days. I got my rest from snow clearing, so bring it on!
