Back to winter again today (winter-ish, anyway) after rain at the end of the day yesterday.
About 1cm of fresh snow, and it's interesting, sticky snow made up of tiny needles of ice.
Probably a lot more to fall, which would be great; although the resorts aren't reporting much loss in the snowpack, you know it's going down.
Actually, I should be nicer; several of the resorts have been really honest about their low snow levels, and have reported new snow in a really responsible way, too. It's a tough year for them, I know. And for saké makers, gasoline stations (no long queues of snowplows needing thousands of liters of fuel), rice farmers (worrying about water, since there's not that much snow), hotel owners, backcountry guides...
