Independent snow and weather reporting from the Myoko region of Niigata

New snowfall at base 10cm
Snowfall at base this season 1011cm

Posted on Saturday 24th January 2015 This is an archived report. The latest Myoko Now report can be found here.

It's a beautiful, almost perfect day in Myoko (even knowing our preference for heavy snowfalls and minimal visibility).

The mountains were glowing yellow at sunrise and sparkling white now (and I would have told you this earlier if the main computer didn't decide to reject the keyboard...).

It was pretty good and cold as well, which should keep that good snow from yesterday in good condition.

The regional forecast is for more snow after noon, but it doesn't look too likely just yet. The wind has come down and the atmospheric pressure is still rising on the coast, so the nice weather might hold.
