Independent snow and weather reporting from the Myoko region of Niigata

New snowfall at base 26cm
Snowfall at base this season 956cm

Posted on Wednesday 22nd February 2023 This is an archived report. The latest Myoko Now report can be found here.

A beautiful blue sky today after several days of snow and wind and cold.

Nice to see the mountain, finally covered in some deep white snow after a slow start in January.

The sun should help to settle the snow a bit; almost too much for climbing outside the resorts.

But looks like we'll be getting more snow towards the weekend, just to keep things nice and fresh on the mountain.
