Independent snow and weather reporting from the Myoko region of Niigata
New snowfall at base 66cm
Snowfall at base this season 930cm
Posted on Tuesday 21st February 2023 This is an archived report. The latest Myoko Now report can be found here.
A lot of snow by this morning, pretty strong winds and whiteout conditions at moments.... a real Myoko winter day!
It's actually colder now, a bit later in the morning (but with fresh info from all resorts!) than it was at 6 am. Yes, heavy snow means an early start around here (and I actually planned to get up at 5, but heard the snowplows around 3:30, stayed awake too long and fell back asleep). Most everything critical is done, anyway, but there's lots of snow on roofs and wind-built cornices that are going to have to come down.
Finish one report, head out again!
