Independent snow and weather reporting from the Myoko region of Niigata

New snowfall at base 18cm
Snowfall at base this season 61cm

Posted on Tuesday 21st November 2017 This is an archived report. The latest Myoko Now report can be found here.

Well, it's still pre-season, it's still some time until the lifts are moving, but we're still getting snow. In the interest of an accurate database, it's time for another update, as we have another 18cm on the ground today.

The freezing line looks like it's going to head up the mountain again tomorrow, so rain is forecast, but there might be some more snowfall later in the week. Fun if it hangs on so we could get some early openings, or, if nothing else, a good solid base to start the season.
