Lots of snow, and lots of wind yesterday afternoon into the night. It's calm at the base of Akakan right now, but I got a call to let me know that the wind is really blowing at Lotte Arai; the lift information hasn't been updated since 8am, so they might be having some delays. I doubt the freeride areas will be open, so be sure to check the website before you go out.
Otherwise, lots of pretty heavy, wind-affected snow. It is really dense; even on snowshoes it was a struggle to get out to my snow testing spot. It's another day of, don't get upside in the deep stuff, or you might not get out! And it is still coming down hard. The snowpack numbers for most of the resorts are also up a lot, which doesn't often happen right away after heavy snow.
I also have a pretty cold -5°C still at base, so it's a cold one.
