Independent snow and weather reporting from the Myoko region of Niigata

New snowfall at base 4cm
Snowfall at base this season 199cm

Posted on Thursday 20th December 2018 This is an archived report. The latest Myoko Now report can be found here.

Kinda gloomy and cold (although it's not that cold; it's the gloom).

We had a touch of snow overnight, along with some rain. The snow keeps coming, but we could really use a good, heavy, tens of centimeter fall to get the hill really ready for the year end.

The freezing level is going to come up the mountain on Friday and Saturday; not as high as was earlier forecasted, but still up to 2450 meters (meaning the top of Mt. Myoko.....).

Not time for a snow dance just yet, but....
