New snowfall at base 40cm
Snowfall at base this season 1126cm
Posted on Sunday 1st February 2015 This is an archived report. The latest Myoko Now report can be found here.
Pretty good snowfall overnight - looks like 40cm or so - and it continues to snow today, despite a few moments of sun earlier in the day.
The wind can't seem to make up its mind, either; it's blowing pretty hard at the moment, mostly from the north but then switching around to the west/southwest.
Off the coast the winds are coming in strong from the northwest, so locally it's probably the effect of the mountain, which can get things spinning at times.
Pretty cold as well.
People traveling offpiste yesterday did report some instability in the snow—sluffin, and even some slabs resulting from wind-loaded slopes. Be careful!
