Independent snow and weather reporting from the Myoko region of Niigata

New snowfall at base 1cm
Snowfall at base this season 1004cm

Posted on Tuesday 19th March 2024 This is an archived report. The latest Myoko Now report can be found here.

It was pretty blustery through the day yesterday and into the night, but that seems like something that was happening all over central Japan. Lots of tents and trucks blowing over; dirt getting carried off of plowed fields, that kind of thing.

We had snow falling through the day, too, but it really didn't accumulate at all (so just a little figure there at the bottom to acknowledge some snowfall).

Could we really be getting more snow over the next two days? Maybe more winds, too, especially Thursday. And then some rain, and then warm and sunny on the weekend? This continues to be a strange season....
