"Furi sugi!" my neighbor called out to me—"Too much snow!"
I had to agree, especially after dealing with someone else's stuck car, a miniature avalanche coming off a massive pile of snow (which I previously created with my snow machine), three blown sheer pins on said snow thrower and all kinds of delaying factors. Which means I am reporting late, but full info from all the resorts for a change! Hopefully lifts are running well, although Akakura Onsen does note that Yodel No. 5, the steep lift up to the highest point (known by locals and Maruyama, since it is a "round mountain") is closed.
There wasn't as much snow as I expected, actually; could be that with the wind it's hard to get a good figure. Seemed like a lot during the hours of morning plowing, but it's also pretty dense. At the same time, it's also not well consolidated; stand on the snow and your leg is going to go down a long way.
Stay safe, people, and enjoy the powder!
