Independent snow and weather reporting from the Myoko region of Niigata

New snowfall at base 11cm
Snowfall at base this season 662cm

It is really pretty out there in the mountains today.

A bit more fresh - actually, exactly the same as I measured yesterday - has covered all the trees up the hill, so everything is nice and white and wintery looking.

The sun is out, which is nice for the views, but there's instant melt on the roads and parking lots.

Looks like another warm cycle ahead and then maybe some more snow. No multi-day, heavy falls ahead, though.
