Independent snow and weather reporting from the Myoko region of Niigata
New snowfall at base 33cm
Snowfall at base this season 744cm
Posted on Tuesday 17th January 2017 This is an archived report. The latest Myoko Now report can be found here.
Today's' report comes in a break in the daily wrassling with the snow. Don't get me wrong, it's great; the only problem for residents is where to put it all. At least today was a "light" 33cm, but it's still coming down steadily. But when you have a few places to get cleared out in the early morning, it gets a bit, ah, tiring.... Still glad to see it coming down, and all the snow-removal machinery is working well so no complaints.
Some winds early in the morning again.
And Akakura Onsen joins Akakan, Seki Onsen and Kyukamura in the 300cm club! That is something we really like to see. But lots of late reports from the resorts today, too.
