Independent snow and weather reporting from the Myoko region of Niigata
New snowfall at base 66cm
Snowfall at base this season 487cm
Posted on Tuesday 16th January 2024 This is an archived report. The latest Myoko Now report can be found here.
Snow snow and snow, and some pretty strong winds and gusting.
Lots of graupel — soft hail &madash; fell, making the snow really dense (I wouldn't want to fall upside down in the stuff; it would be really hard to get yourself out of it).
The wind still is blowing pretty hard up off the ocean, a good strong north wind, so some lift closures are possible.
Cold noses as well.
