Independent snow and weather reporting from the Myoko region of Niigata

New snowfall at base 19cm
Snowfall at base this season 164cm

Posted on Monday 16th December 2024 This is an archived report. The latest Myoko Now report can be found here.

Good first day on the slopes for your reporter; a little delay with a certain lift not opening until about 10:30.

There is some aging infrastructure across the mountain, and early-season glitches are to be expected. Not by the folks who trundled off to the neighboring resort (where rumor has it their lift was delayed). But good snow, some sun in the afternoon, not too warm and more snow fell today. And is falling.
