OK, here we go on the first day of lift operations in Myoko for the 2013-14 season!

Akakura Kanko and Akakura Onsen will both be open (limited) today; Ikenotaira, Suginohara and Seki will hold off until the 21st.

Not much fresh snow overnight; it was sunny and cold at dawn today, but it's looking more promising higher up the hill.

The forecasts are all pointing to precipitation, possibly heavy, over the next few days.

Whatever does happen, we're pretty much normal this year, and the snow always does come.

Akakura Kanko Ski Area: Gondola and No. 5 lift

Akakura Onsen Ski Area: Kumado No.1 quad
