Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 0cm
Snowfall at base this season 516cm

Posted on Saturday 7th March 2015 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.

Good morning from Hakuba.

A bit more cloud moved in later in the afternoon, but it was a real feel-good day yesterday.

This morning there's some grey cloud hanging over the village at the moment but clearer blue skies over the mountains.

Forecast for the day today is cloud and fairly warm spring like temperatures again. We can probably expect some icy conditions early on softening up as the morning progresses.

I was just looking at the other reports and the forecasts for the coming week. I too am intrigued by what is being forecast for early in the week. If it's right we should be on for a very decent return to winter conditions. Which is just fine by me! Trying not to get too worked up about it just yet... but it will be very interesting to see how that develops over the next few days.

For the moment though, I hope you can enjoy the weekend.
