Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 2cm
Snowfall at base this season 516cm

Posted on Wednesday 4th March 2015 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.

Morning from Hakuba. Some fresh snow on the ground this morning.

Some pretty cool views in places this morning - take a look at the Happo webcam image posted below. Sea of clouds. Impressive scenery and I wish I were up there right now!

The clouds seem to be in the process of clearing and the sun might be with us by this afternoon with a high temp or around +5 degrees forecast.

Tomorrow should be cooler but according to the forecast there doesn't seem to be forecast on the menu.
