It did get cloudier as the day went on yesterday. While I was over at Hakuba Iwatake snow started falling from early afternoon - initially at the same time as the sun was out, but by later in the afternoon it was close to white-out conditions... couldn't see a thing!
Resorts this morning are reporting up to 8cm of fresh snow on upper areas (Cortina).
This morning there is still a lot of cloud up there but it's quite bright and it feels like it is going to quickly clear up. That's what the local forecasts say too. Right now there's a bank of greyer lower cloud with the sun lighting up the backdrop making for some interesting scenery.
Enough of scenery, what about snow as we approach the end of February. Well, we probably shouldn't expect much (if any) over the next few days but snowfall due again on Thursday/Friday though there looks to be a good (or is that bad) chance of rain before snow once again (on Thursday). We'll just have to wait and see how that develops and hopefully changes for the better.
In the meantime, it should be a good day to be out today. That's where I'm heading right now.
