Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 7cm
Snowfall at base this season 122cm

Posted on Saturday 26th December 2020 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.

Good morning from Hakuba.

6cm of snow to report from base with ski areas reporting the following up to 30cm on the mountain.

We're due potentially heavy snow and cold over the last few days of the year. Before then we might get times of sunshine and relatively mild temperatures.

There should be some excellent conditions to find. I hope some of you can get to enjoy it.

This morning it feels really great to be able to say that pretty much everywhere is now open. There are some exceptions, but generally I feel that there is no longer a need to list up lifts and courses in the report every day. And that is a good thing. Brilliant! :)
