Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 0cm
Snowfall at base this season 89cm

Posted on Saturday 25th December 2021 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.

Good morning from Hakuba and Happy Christmas.

For this weekend there's not much fresh snow to report - just yet (some being reported on the mountains this morning) - but ski areas are doing their best to open up as much as possible.

One notable opening is the top Grat quad at Happo-one. And I can see that the Tree Riding Zones at Hakuba 47 are also now available.

A few days of good consistent snowfall would really get places open fully and if the forecasts are correct then the next few days should deliver. It's fairly mild for now but should be getting gradually colder during the day.

See you tomorrow with news of snow :)
