Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano
New snowfall at base 1cm
Snowfall at base this season 500cm
Posted on Friday 24th January 2025 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.
Good morning from Hakuba.
We had a largely cloudy day yesterday with some light snow falling on mountainsides, though it remained pretty mild generally.
This morning Hakuba Goryu and Hakuba Happo-one are reporting up to 10cm of snowfall on upper areas. Iwatake (Mountain Side) is reporting 2cm.
I moved a bit of snow off the top of my car early this morning (from overnight).
Line C lift at Hakuba 47 should be opening once inspections are complete, hopefully this morning.
Maybe some snow over the weekend but the best news is the potential for 'heavy snowfall' now showing for around Tuesday into Wednesday. That sounds more like it! Yey!!
