Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano
New snowfall at base 0cm
Snowfall at base this season 499cm

Good morning from Hakuba.
A fair amount of cloud around the mountains at times yesterday, but blue sky and sunshine too. It was very pleasant out there, but too warm for my liking.
We have more sunshine this morning and another fairly mild day expected.
A few ski areas a reporting a cm or two of snow on higher elevations, but not snow down at base.
It seems that much of Japan is experiencing a spell of relatively mild and dry weather. Hopefully we can get back to all that lovely fresh snow by the weekend.
