Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano

Cloudy skies around base this morning with some very light snow in places and a few breaks in the clouds away from the mountains. Higher up, generally limited visibility with snow falling.


Some fairly winds conditions are being reported at the start of the day and top lifts at Happo-one and Tsugaike are affected. Others might also be affected.


Ski areas this morning reporting up to 20cm of snow since yesterday in upper areas. All the numbers in the list below, of course.


Clear skies, sun and calmer weather is forecast from early on tomorrow and perhaps on Sunday as well.


Actually, if forecasts are correct, the snow taps might be about to be turned off for at least several days.
