New snowfall at base 22cm
Snowfall at base this season 216cm

Posted on Monday 21st January 2019 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.

Good morning to you from Hakuba.

Snow to report this morning (the branches of the trees outside my place are looking loaded and very pretty this morning) and I'll get the headlines to you first. Here is the amount of fresh snowfall that the ski resorts are reporting this morning:

Hakuba Cortina: 20cm (base), 30cm (top)

Hakuba Iwatake: 20cm (base), 30cm (top)

Hakuba Happo-one: 20cm (top Riesen)

Hakuba 47: up to 20cm (* they were also reporting 20cm at 3pm yesterday afternoon)

Hakuba Goryu: 15-30cm

We enjoyed snow falling yesterday and then some stronger winds overnight, but things feel calmer at the moment and ski resorts appear to be open as planned at the start of the day today.

Official snow depths are mostly taking some big jumps today. I imagine this morning there are some fine conditions to be found and I'm looking forward to getting out for some action myself. (Feeling up for it again now!)

I should be bringing you more fresh snow news tomorrow and there's regular lined up on the forecasts too.
