Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 11cm
Snowfall at base this season 707cm

Posted on Wednesday 19th February 2025 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.

Good morning from a cold Hakuba.

So, not much going on... just the usual lots more snow!

The record snowfall number for the day goes to Cortina ski area, which is reporting up to 40cm of snowfall on the mountain.

Other ski areas seem to be saying there's up to 25cm or so in upper areas; there was just over 10cm on the top of my car this morning.

Once again, unfortunately, wind is causing some problems to upper lifts around the ski areas.

Hopefully things will be calmer tomorrow. Snow clouds might be with us through the weekend with heavy snow at times, but perhaps getting less so as we do head into the weekend.
