Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 18cm
Snowfall at base this season 696cm

Posted on Tuesday 18th February 2025 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.

We're back to the snow and cold!

Or, we were. Right now, there the clouds have cleared a bit and there's even a bit of blue sky. But it should be snowing again before too long and it's expected to continue through the week.

Happo-one is reporting 50cm of fresh snowfall up at Kurobishi (sugoi!) but 0cm a few hundred meters away at Usagidaira (huh?!). And 15cm at the top of the Riesen quad lift. Curious.

On the Hakuba Valley official website, Tsugaike is reporting 42cm of fresh snowfall and the 'season-so-far' total for that ski area is still stuck at 269cm. Funny!

Anyway, some funky numbers aside we have more fresh snow to enjoy with more on the way. And that is what matters.
