Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano
New snowfall at base 1cm
Snowfall at base this season 484cm
Posted on Wednesday 18th February 2015 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.
It has started snowing again this morning. Just a dusting on the ground so far, but hopefully the start of a decent amount over the next few days. Coming down nicely just now as I'm typing this. May it continue!!
Conditions getting wet and heavy in some lower places along with that bit of 'dust on crust' thing going on this morning until we get a decent layer of fresh. Better snow conditions found the higher up you go as we wait for the new snow to freshen things up.
Limited visibility on the slopes this morning pretty much wherever you chose by the looks of the webcams.
It's keeping quite mild with the temperature hovering around freezing just now, so just what will happen weather wise today and tomorrow is of real interest. Anyway I hope to be able to bring some good news tomorrow morning.
