Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 1cm
Snowfall at base this season 339cm

Posted on Sunday 15th March 2026 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.

Good morning from Hakuba.

There's lots of cloud around this morning, with there is also some blue sky. It looks like there has been a few cm of snow in higher areas, though no ski areas are actually reporting any.

Actually lower areas have also had a dusting of snow/sleet. That has been quickly disappearing, but there was almost 1cm on the top of my car a few hours ago.

Today is the last day of the season for Sanosaka (or White Resort Hakuba Sanosaka full name). Wow, we're already in mid-March and talking about the end of the season. Winter flies by so fast. What's the old cliche, when you're enjoying yourself...
