Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 0cm
Snowfall at base this season 230cm

Posted on Saturday 14th January 2023 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.

After that beautiful clear start yesterday, by lunchtime it was starting to get cloudy and overcast.

We did get some rain overnight, but it isn't raining now. Just very cloudy (and foggy in places early morning). It is going to be another warm day though, with a chance of spots of rain during the day. Hopefully not more than that.

OK so I'm ready for a return to colder temps and fresh snow now. Tomorrow will be colder, still above zero, and then Monday colder still. And there should be some snow in the mix there too, though forecasts don't show potential big numbers.

We have what we have, so I am going to go and make the most of it!
