Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano
New snowfall at base 2cm
Snowfall at base this season 232cm
Posted on Tuesday 17th January 2023 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.
Just a little bit of snow around base areas really (which has mostly gone from roads now). The most snow being reported by a ski area since yesterday is 7cm at Tsugaike. Others are reporting within the range 0cm-5cm.
It is quite cold which is good. A cloudy start to the morning but quite bright with the sun trying to break through the clouds.
There is a chance of some more snow tomorrow, but Friday night is looking the most promising in the coming days. That would be good for the weekend!
We had good early season snow this time round but things have slowed down since then. I look forward to things speeding up once more!
Still, I had a good few hours out there yesterday, even with the somewhat limited visibility.
