Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 4cm
Snowfall at base this season 230cm

Posted on Wednesday 11th January 2023 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.

Yesterday was a bit wild out there at times. Strong winds and the falling snow being blown around.

No more snow overnight and it's a contrast this morning once again. A cold start. While there is cloud around early on, we expect clearer skies today and tomorrow.

Saturday still looks like the day to not choose, if you have choices, as it's still looking like it will be rainy and warm. There's snow beyond that though on Sunday and Monday, so early week should be good.

Anyway, I'm going to make most of the sun today and tomorrow. Not too warm, please!

Check out the ski-lift-above-clouds image from Happo-one (below). Very cool.
